Just what is science, and just when can children begin to understand the rudiments? At its simplest, it’s about finding out how things work. At its most complicated, it is incomprehensible, even frightening to the majority of us.
Yet are we missing something in not introducing the basic concepts of science to toddlers before they reach school, where it is taught in such a way that many children are turned off by it before they are even turned on?
