The children who think pasta comes from animals and eggs come from cows

According to a survey by the British Nutrition Foundation, more than 25% of primary school children think that cheese comes from plants, and 1 in 10 teenagers think that fruit pastilles are healthy. Over 5,000 children between the ages of 5 and 16 took part in the survey. Among 5 to 7 year-olds, a fifth said that fish fingers are made of chicken, a sixth thought that bacon came from sheep, cows or hens, while a sixth believed bread, yoghurt, chocolate and salmon belong to the fruit and vegetables food group.
