Pre-school children spend more than four hours a day looking at a screen

Ofcom have released the results of a study revealing how much time children and young people are spending using screens during leisure or play. It also looked at the ownership of devices and the effect that is having on how ‘screen time’ is being used differently from in previous research.

“The study found that, overall, children now spend more time online than watching television. The ‘tipping point’ between modern and traditional forms of ‘screen time’ has been reached, with 5 to 15-year-olds spending 15 hours a week online compared with around 13-and-a-half-hours watching a television set, the research found.”
