At a time when people are more and more dislocated from the outdoors, new scientific research is showing us what we intuitively know, which is that nature makes us happy. Not only that, but that whilst a little bit of nature is helpful, the greater the exposure to nature, the greater the benefit.
“Neuroscientists, especially in the U.K. and U.S., are starting to look at how people’s brains respond to different environments. What they’re seeing is that if their volunteers are walking through a city or noisy area, their brains are doing different things than if they are walking in a park.”
